The brand

If you are an experimented guns handler, there is a pretty high chance that you’ve stumbled across at least once at RCBS’s products, or should I say “Rock Chuck Bullet Swage dies”. This company is a pretty old and famous one established in 1943. Rifles cartridges, bullet molds,  ammunition reloading equipment, you name it. This company does indeed think big when it comes to diversifying the products it sells. Besides the obvious bullets related objects available for sale, RCBS did also create ultrasonic cleaners destined mainly for brass, and even for guns. This is the part that we’ve waited for! Keep scrolling if you are interested.

RCBS Ultrasonic Case Cleaner -2: Volume and weight

We all know how much difficult it is to clean your brass with the traditional and manual methods that require too much time and effort. Well, now is the time for you to acquire a well-reputed device that will relieve you from all these unnecessary efforts. With its spacious tank’s volume approximating the 6.3-quart  (201.6 oz), the RCBS ultrasonic cleaner 2 will allow you to clean a huge amount of objects at the same time. This is a pretty neat and time-saving feature. As for the weight, just like we hoped for, it does not surpass 16.5 lb. If you think that you will need an ultrasonic cleaner that you will displace a lot, this one will certainly come handy.

RCBS Ultrasonic Case Cleaner -2: Technical features

rcbs ultrasonic cleaner

Let’s start with the most important thing: the transducer power. The RCBS ultrasonic cleaner is equipped with two transducers having a 60 W power each. At first sight, you might say that this is the average settings you will find for a professional cleaner. However, with the tank’s actual volume, having two transducers for a 6.3-quart volume is considered to be a low number. This will mean that you will have cleaning results that are less efficient than the competitors.

As for the heating and timing features, you will find nothing out of the ordinary. A heater powered with 100 W offering 5 preset settings ranging between 104° and 140° f. A timer that can be programmed up to 30 min: nothing to brag about.

Now for the frequency, this machine runs at 35Khz. This is a perfect one: Pretty efficient at robust and metallic objects like gun parts or brass, slightly below the common 42Khz frequency, which is good on jewelry and more delicate objects.

I thought that we could leave the best part at the end: the degas function. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this feature, let’s understand what it is. Often present on professional devices, it allows the disappearance of gas bubbles responsible for perturbing the cavitation process. With a simple button click, you can forget about these annoying bubbles that can lead you to restart your cleanings over and over again.

Customers reviews

Although the RCBS Case Cleaner -2 does not include a good number of transducers just like its older version, it did, however, encounter quite a positive number of ratings. People just loved its spacious tank that has a 100% more capacity than the previous one. On top of that, the cleaning results were just astonishing. We were even surprised to hear that, considering the low number of transducers it has. There is however a downside that you need to consider. The temperature does take a lot of time to reach its destination. Some users did even microwaved the water to diminish this long process: pretty clever.
