Magnasonic ultrasonic jewelry cleaner review

If you are reading this, it probably means that you are doing a little research on ultrasonic cleaners to know what machine will suit your needs. And apparently, you’ve stumbled across the best seller of ultrasonic cleaners in the USA, which is the Magnasonic manufacturer.

As you can see, this seller does provide three different cleaners, and you are left wondering what are the differences between them right? Well, no worries are needed!

Here, we will decrypt these devices one by one; we will take a look at their strengths, weaknesses, see the feedback by their users, and most of all, we will highlight the differences that exist between them if there are any. But first, let’s start by taking a look at the Magnasonic company.

The brand

Magnasonic is a well-reputed company based in the US and also in Canada. It specializes in many high tech products, destined to the public. They sell for example many gadgets related to the audiovisual field like HDMI Adapters, video projectors, film scanners, etc…

In fact, we’ve realized how much of a weird approach they tend to take. Try to understand the relationship that exists between an ultrasonic cleaner and a video projector, right?

Well, even though they took an unusual approach in creating their products, they still managed to dominate the market with ultrasonic cleaners for example. After taking this point into account, Magnasonic did indeed earn a place for a Magnasonic ultrasonic jewelry cleaner review in our website. Now, let’s get straight to the point and see what this company has to offer.

Magnasonic Professional Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner (UC31S)

Magnasonic UC31S

How much do you love your jewelry, watches, or silverware? If you are here, it means that they mean a lot for you: you are looking to take good care of them but is the Magnasonic UC31S really the right choice for them?

Well, it depends. At first, if you are looking for a cheap product, pretty efficient on small objects that aren’t covered with grease, a lot of oil, then the answer is yes.

Magnasonic UC31S is a product well appreciated by the mast majority of the public. Let’s see what it has as features. We begin by the volume of its tank: with a generous 20 oz stainless steel tank(600 ml) you will have access to a tank large enough for your regular objects.

As for its weight, this machine can be considered as a light version of ultrasonic cleaners. It does not surpass the 1.71 pounds (775 gr).

Finally, to use it, there is only a single 3 minutes cycle. This is pretty disappointing as we’re accustomed of seeing ultrasonic cleaners that offer a large choice of preset cycles.

To compensate for that, and also for the lack of presence of a heater, the Magnasonic UC31S comes with a pocket-friendly price. If you find that this machine is overpriced, then you’re going to have a hard time finding a new ultrasonic cleaner that can beat this one at its price by a huge amount.

ProsCons
-Portable
-Easy to use
-Does not contain a heater
-Does not contain preset cleaninig cycles
-Is the least popular amongst the Magnasonic ultrasonic cleaners

Magnasonic Professional Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner (CD2800)

Magnasonic CD2800

We already told you that the UC31S Magnasonic cleaner is a very cheap device. However, the  Magnasonic CD2800 new version is the cheapest amongst all the Magnasonic products, but not by a huge amount of money.

Apart from that, what are the differences between this device and the previous one? Well, this is a little bit confusing we think. Globally the most noticeable difference lays in the design: this one comes in a light color, and the UC31S comes in a grey color.

This isn’t very convincing you might think no? What can we say more? This machine has the exact same features as the previous one. Same, weight, same volume, a single 3 minutes cleaning cycle, etc…However, this one is more popular and is more appreciated. It could be very much explained by the fact that it’s cheaper or that it’s the latest version released, or as well as for both reasons. Anyway, the choice between the CD2800 and the UC31S is easily made: Go for this one as it has more appreciation and positive feedback.

ProsCons
-Portable
-Easy to use
-Relatively cheap
-Very popular product
-Does not contain a heater
-Does not provide different cleaning cycles

Magnasonic Professional Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner with Digital Timer (MGUC500)

Magnasonic MGUC500

We’ve left the best part to the end. Now that we have seen 2 ultrasonic cleaners that do not offer preset cleaning cycles, which is we think a pretty neat and essential feature to have, let’s at least see something that provides this function.

The Magnasonic MGUC500 ultrasonic cleaner is an upgraded version of the two enlisted above, that’s for sure. Besides the regular 42 kHz transducer frequency, efficient on delicate objects like your diamonds, watches, coins or dentures, or its 20 oz (600 ml) stainless steel tank, this machine does offer 5 preset cleaning cycles.

You can choose between 90, 180, 280, 380 or 480s operation. On top of that, after it’s done the cleaning, the automatic shut-down feature will absolutely take care of the rest.

What also caught our attention, is the huge popularity and appreciation this product did encounter. I don’t think that there is an ultrasonic cleaner that can beat the Magnasonic Professional ultrasonic cleaner (MGUC500) in term of how much positive feedback it received.

Finally, using this device is relatively simple. Select the right cleaning solution depending on what you want to clean. If you don’t have a clear idea on what to pick, check out our article titled “what solution to use with an ultrasonic cleaner?” After pouring the cleaning solution to the 2/3 of the device’s tank, click on the “on” button, then select your cycle using the “set” button. Now you should be all set. Wait for the cleaning cycle to end and enjoy a piece of clean and bright jewelry.

ProsCons
-Portable
-Easy to use
-Contain 5 different cleaning cycles
-The most popular ultrasonic cleaner in th US
-Does not contain a heater
-Expensive compared to the other Magnasonic ultrasonic claners

Conclusion

Hopefully, now you know the differences between the Magnasonic ultrasonic cleaners. Depending on your budget selecting one of the three should be relatively easy.

If you want the cheapest version, then go for the Magnasonic CD2800. If you have more money to afford, then the MGUC500 should be perfect for you. It has more options and is more appreciated than the other two.
